A New Day Dawns When We See With God's Love
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."John 1:5 (NIV)
A New Day Dawns When We See With God's Love
Let me share with you a story that speaks volumes. Rabbi Pincus once asked his students, “How do you know when a new day has dawned and the night is over?” One student answered, “When you see an animal in the distance and can tell whether it's a dog or a sheep.” Another said, “When you can distinguish between an almond tree and a fig tree.”
But Rabbi Pincus replied, “You know the night is over and a new day has dawned when you can look at any man or woman and see them as your brother or sister, made in the image of God and loved by Him. Until then, it is still night.”
This story carries such truth for us today. The sunlight of God’s love shines into our lives, reminding us that every person we encounter—whether they are a friend, a stranger, or even someone who frustrates us—is made in the image of God and loved deeply by Him. That’s when the night is over and a new day dawns—when we can truly see each person as God does, as His beloved creation.
The Lord loves you, and He loves the person who may annoy you. He loves your enemy just as He loves you. We are all made in His image. As you go about your day, may the light of the Lord's love shine through you. See in every man and woman the image of God, and let them feel that love through your words, actions, and prayers.
When we see others this way, with God’s love, a new day truly dawns. Let that refresh your spirit today, and may you refresh others as well. The night is over, and the light of God's love is shining.
In Jesus' name, Amen and Amen.
