You Can’t Earn God’s Love—You Already Have It
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 (NIV)
You Can’t Earn God’s Love—You Already Have It
I want to remind you of a beautiful and freeing truth: you cannot earn God’s love. No matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, it’s impossible to earn, win, or merit God’s love. Why? Because you already have it. He can’t love you any more than He already does.
God’s love for you is incomprehensible, eternal, immeasurable, and unconditional. It’s not based on your performance or efforts—it’s based on who He is. God has already poured out His love for you fully and completely.
Trying to earn God’s love is like trying to earn two eyes for your face. You don’t need to earn them—you already have them. Just as you can’t earn what you’ve already been given, you can’t earn God’s love because it’s already yours. And the good news is that it’s not going anywhere. There’s nothing you can do to change or diminish His love for you.
So tonight, let go of the pressure to earn something that’s already yours. Instead, receive it. Enjoy it. Embrace the truth that you are deeply loved by God. You don’t need to strive for His affection—it’s been given to you freely, fully, and forever.
In Jesus' name, remember this: You can’t earn God’s love because you already have it—all of it. Every bit of it. He really does love you.
Amen and Amen.
