Trusting God’s Eternal Perspective
"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." 2 Corinthians 4:17 (NIV)
Trusting God’s Eternal Perspective
Let me take just a moment to remind you—and remind myself—of an incredible, glorious truth: Our loving Father cares more about our eternal joy, destiny, and glory than He does about our present ease and comfort. We often focus on what makes us feel better in the here and now, but our Father sees the big picture and says, “Trust me, you’ll thank me later.”
The trials and challenges we go through have a purpose. They are preparing us for something far greater than we can imagine. Listen to what God inspired Paul to say in 2 Corinthians 4: "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory." The word weight—that’s something heavy, substantial, and glorious. What we’re going through now is light, temporary, and small in comparison to the eternal glory that awaits us.
It may not feel like it in the moment, but the struggles we face today are nothing compared to the greatness of what God has in store. The challenges are light compared to the weight of eternal glory that’s coming our way. One day, we’ll look back and say, “It was worth it.”
God says to you and me, “Trust me. You’ll thank me later, and you’ll thank me for all eternity, because I care about the big picture.” Our temporary afflictions are preparing us for a future filled with unimaginable glory. Watch, wait, and see. It’ll be worth it one day, guaranteed.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
