The Simplicity of Childlike Faith
"Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3 (NIV)
The Simplicity of Childlike Faith
One of the most precious and profound aspects of following Jesus is how faith becomes progressively simpler the longer we walk with Him. As I grow older and continue my journey as a believer, I find that my faith is not becoming more complicated but more childlike. Jesus said that to enter the kingdom of heaven, we must become like children.
I’ve spent the last few days with my little grandkids, and their faith is such a beautiful reminder of this truth. Their trust in God’s goodness is simple, sincere, and unwavering. If I need someone to pray for me, I’ll ask my grandkids because their belief that God hears their prayers is so pure. It’s a faith that pleases God, and it challenges me to ask: Is my faith becoming simpler?
At its core, faith really does boil down to something profoundly simple: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. This is the essence of walking with Jesus. It's about love—loving God and loving others. And as we grow in faith, we realize that God’s love for us and for everyone around us is more than enough.
So, today, as you walk with the Lord, may your faith become simple and childlike. Trust in God’s goodness and love, and love Him with all you have. Love others as He loves them. That’s the heart of it all.
In Jesus' name, Amen and Amen.
