A Brother's Love and Sacrifice

Genesis 44:33 - "Please, my lord, let me stay here as a slave instead of the boy, and let the boy return with his brothers."

Have you ever done something nice for your brother, sister, or friend, even when it was really hard?

In Genesis 44, something incredible happens. Joseph's brother Judah does just that! Joseph, pretending to be an Egyptian governor, tricks his brothers and says he will keep the youngest brother, Benjamin, as his slave. But Judah steps up and says, "No, take me instead!"

Judah was ready to give up his own freedom to protect his brother. He showed deep love and sacrifice, just like Jesus did for us! You see, God loves us so much that He sent His son Jesus to take our place, so that we could be free.

So, what can we learn from Judah? We learn that love sometimes means doing hard things for others, even when it's not easy or comfortable. Maybe that means giving your last piece of candy to your sister or helping your friend with homework even when you'd rather be playing video games.

Remember, when you choose to love others in this way, you're being a bit like Judah, and a lot like Jesus! So let's practice that kind of love today!
