Standing Firm in God's Eyes"

Genesis 6:9 (New Living Translation)
"Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God."

Have you ever observed kids playing unfairly? Everyone is cheating everyone else and crying unfairly. It’s chaos. Now imagine watching kids fight and argue, yet you see your child choosing to play fair and kindly, even if it means not winning. It's a small act of righteousness that warms your heart. Like my nephew Davy, I’ve noticed on several occasions as he is playing with a bunch of kids, his kindness towards them shines so bright. He is such a good example to the other kids around him.

Noah was living in a time where the world he lived in was steeped in wickedness. He stood as a beacon of righteousness, choosing to walk with God even when no one else did. He stood apart not because he was perfect, but because he chose to be different in his obedience and fellowship with God.

As parents, it's our task to guide our children to be 'Noahs' in their world. When they encounter situations where it's easier to follow the crowd, remind them of Noah's story. Encourage them to choose righteousness, even if they stand alone.

We can help our children understand that it's not about being perfect, but about striving to walk in fellowship with God and living out His values. And remember, when we stand firm in our faith and obedience, even amidst the storms of life, we're under the steadfast gaze and favor of God, just like Noah.
