Roots and Lineage

Genesis 36:1 (New Living Translation)
"This is the account of the family of Esau (also known as Edom)."

As a teenager, it's likely you've been asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" You're at a stage in life where you're starting to contemplate your future and perhaps feel the weight of expectations - from your family, your school, and even yourself.

Genesis 36 traces the lineage of Esau, who was not the chosen son, yet his descendants became powerful and numerous. Esau's story reminds us that our family and where we come from don't determine our worth or limit our potential in God's eyes. God has a unique plan for each of us, irrespective of our background.

Your family, heritage, or the expectations placed on you don't confine you. Your identity is rooted in God and His love for you. As you navigate your way forward, remember that God's plans for you are not limited by earthly measures but are immeasurably vast, just like His love.

Pause & Pray:

1. Pray for guidance as you discern God's unique plan for your life.
2. Ask God for the strength to navigate your own path, even when it goes against expectations.
3. Give thanks for your roots and ask God to help you see your worth as He sees it, not as the world does.
