Genesis 37: Students
Dreams and Reality
Genesis 37:19 (New Living Translation) - "Here comes the dreamer!" they said.
At your age, dreams play a big part in shaping your choices. Maybe you dream of becoming a doctor, an artist, an athlete, or maybe you're still unsure. Just like you, Joseph, in Genesis 37, was a dreamer. His dreams, though, were met with mockery and betrayal by his brothers.
Just like Joseph, you may also face obstacles, setbacks, or even ridicule for your dreams. People might not always understand the dreams that God has placed in your heart. This is when it becomes vital to hold onto your faith and remember that God is with you, even when it feels like you're in the pit of disappointment or frustration.
Joseph's story teaches us that God has a plan, even in the darkest times. When people scoff at your dreams or when circumstances seem to be going against you, remember Joseph. He endured hardship, but ultimately his dreams became a reality because God was with him.
Pause & Pray:
1. Pray for perseverance and faith, especially when it feels like your dreams are being mocked or delayed.
2. Ask God for wisdom to distinguish between His plans for you and your personal desires.
3. Pray for courage to follow God's plan, even when it doesn't align with what others expect or understand.
